To make your network marketing business a success, you have to treat it like your own REAL business—this means you have to work at it everyday, you have to be willing to step out of your comfort zone, you have to WANT it to succeed like you’ve never wanted anything else before, and you have to go out there and DO IT… no excuses.
We all have the same 24 hours in a day, so stop telling yourself you don’t have time… when something is important to you, you FIND time!
Whether you’re a seasoned network marketer or someone who is totally new to the industry, you probably learned pretty quickly that there are a lot of people who are going to DOUBT what you’re doing with your new business.
Whether they don’t trust the industry in general, or they themselves had a bad experience with a networking company in the past, you CANNOT let these people influence you.
Surround yourself with positive, hardworking people who want the same thing as you (your team!) and never stop believing in yourself.
You also need to believe in your teammates 100% because they need your support and love on this journey too… I can’t tell you how many times people have told me, “thank you for believing in me before I believed in myself.” Investing your belief in others is one of the easiest & most rewarding things you can do… there is no greater feeling than knowing you helped changed someone’s life for the better!
One of the most important components to your success in this industry is PLUGGING IN and getting involved. This means listening in on team calls & corporate calls, arranging team meetings, posting in community Facebook groups, & traveling to team/corporate events.
You can’t be a fly on the wall in this business… you have to be fully-engaged and LOUD! Why do you think everyone comes back from conference all fired up and ready to work their butts off? Because they’ve just been around thousands of other like-minded people who are ready to take their business to a whole ‘notha level and they THRIVE off each other’s positive energy and support!
Take some time each day to plug into your team in some way—you don’t have to spend all day listening to every call and responding to every Facebook post, but just make sure people know you’re there and working! And, GO to your company’s annual conference and team events! I promise it will change your business for the better!
Leaders are an incredibly important part of any successful network marketing organization. Without strong leaders to guide your teams as they grow, you will constantly be building and re-building because of too much turnover. And what do high turnover rates cause? Tons of unnecessary stress and drama!
As you get started (or continue) building your teams, be on the lookout for the unique gifts/skills of each of your teammates. When you start noticing someone’s special talents… identify them and encourage them to use that skill more. If some of your teammates are more active than others or they’re always “hungry” to learn more, do more, etc… they are likely one of your future leaders!
Once you’ve identified your leaders, take some time to talk to them about stepping up to the position… tell them how much you admire them, their skills, their work ethic, etc. and ask them if they’d be willing to take their business to the next level with some one-on-one mentoring and more responsibility.
Your leaders are really the lifeblood of your team, so when you do find them… treat them like gold! Tell them how important they are, encourage them, do nice things for them, and most of all… be there for them when they need it! When you establish loyalty and trust between your leaders, it will serve your business for YEARS to come.
One of the difficult aspects of this business is that it tends to grow in spurts… just like retail stores hit peak sales during the holidays, network marketing companies can experience months of crazy, exponential growth during certain times of the year.
When this happens, the energy becomes contagious and everyone who is working their business is growing with the company and everyone is happy!
When it’s slow, on the other hand… people can get very discouraged and stop building or even quit. To avoid hitting these slumps and getting dragged down with them, you NEED to be recruiting CONSTANTLY!
You can experiment with new ways of sharing your business and talking to people, but the only way your business will always be growing is if you’re always taking about it with new people!
Remember that network marketing is a numbers game—some people will want your product and others won’t… you will get lots of people who say no, but you’ll also get plenty who say YES if you stick around long enough to keep asking.
At the end of the day, YOU are the only person who can make your business succeed (or fail). If you wake up every morning with the belief that you and your teammates CAN do it, you plug-in and stay motivated with the support of your team and you treat it like a real business and work it every single day… you WILL succeed.
